Cochise Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering February 6-8, 2009, Buena Performing Arts Center in Sierra Vista, Arizona The theme of this year's gathering is Territorial Ranches. Our history section features two illustrated articles by Frederic Remington portraying the colorful life of vaqueros on ranches in Mexico. See Rodeo at Los Ojos and An Outpost of Civilization, Two more articles written and illustrated by Frederic Remington -- Horses of the Plains and A Scout with the Buffalo-Soldiers -- appeared in The Century magazine in the 1890s.
